Another great turn out for the Aquathon Training sessions. The distances went up this week with a 750m Swim and a 3km run. Yes thats is two times up the “sneaky killer hill” it might only be a 120m in length but its a killer 🙂
It is great to see another huge turn out from Local Tri club Boru, the lovely magenta pink club colours are really brightening up the www.ulac.ie on wednesday evenings.
On Training sessions like these we would be lost without the support of the Ulac staff and the GoTri team members all chipping in to make these sessions a great success. I’ll be forever naming you all but you know who you are 🙂
First home on the night was Young Hound Stevie Rooney followed in second place by GoTri veteran Davy Rich who was chased all the way by Shane O’Connor.
Shane ran a fantastic second lap with even enough energy for a sprint finish coming down the hill. All those Ennis Tri Club track sessions have really paid off.
First Lady home on the night was Speedy Yelverton, a girl from great stock as they say in the west. The younger sister of Kilkee Hell of the West champion Mike Yelverton was showing most of the boys a clean set of heels in Transition. Apples dont fall far from the tree, so get down to Paddy Power to place a bet on her day stepping up to international standard and following in Aileens footsteps.
( imagine, this is where we started – over 3 years ago- now she is winning the ladies races 🙂
It was great to see another strong showing by all the female athletes again last night. I think we will have to give you a wave all to yourselves.
