Night 1 report

Arriving in killaloe to ” not so friendly” looking lake under moody skies I was a bit apprehensive and worried if anyone would show. Young Daragh who I dragged out from Shannon to get ready for the upcoming lough cutra u15 race was still eager to get going. I love his enthusiasm. As 7pm approached the cars started to show and although the numbers were lower than the usual “old school” GoTri numbers of old 7 bodies took to the penguin suits and the 10 degree waters.

I had planned a lot of drills, efforts, chats and reviews but with the swell being choppy and the waters being cold, we just got on with one sight drill and getting a quick 700/800m swim in before the chill kicked in too much.

A big thank you to Ray for the kayak, it was lovely and warm 🙂

a quick transition into our running gear and we hit the hills of Moylusa for 14 x 40 second hill reps off a 2 min cycle. I was super impressed with the girls and the returning Ray. They got them all in and made it look easy and it was great having Paul and Brendan join in for a few of the final reps to really push on the lads.

A quick jog back to base, followed by a quick stretch on the grass, a dip of the legs in the cold waters and the job was done for night 1 ….. rebuilding.

If you fancy joining just rock up next week ready to swim at 7pm or if you have any questions txt me 0879973313
